This is a standard menu launcher plugin that reads user-defined menu JSONC files and executes their actions via Util.execDetached. It also writes selection/done files using bash -c with proper shell quoting. No obfuscation, network access, persistence, or credential handling was found. The deterministic scan found no issues, and the code is consistent with the intended functionality.

  • As a menu launcher, it can execute arbitrary commands defined in menu configuration files, but this is the expected and documented behavior.
  • The plugin writes to files (selection/done) using bash -c, but the paths are shell-quoted and derived from runtime state, so injection risk is minimal.
How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

Install
$ omarchy plugin add https://github.com/cdhananjay/omarchy-menu-auto-open --enable
Desktop #Hyprland #bar #quickshell

Menu Auto-Open

A drop-in replacement Omarchy menu that auto-opens the sole result of a search.

When you search the menu and your query narrows the list down to exactly one row, it is opened automatically after a short delay — no Enter needed. This applies to the menu's own search and to select prompts, so a picker with a single match returns its selection by itself.

  • Launches an app, runs an action, or opens a submenu when it is the only match.
  • A ~300 ms debounce restarts on each keystroke, so async rows (installed apps) can land and you can keep typing.
  • Arrow navigation cancels the pending auto-open.

Install

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/cdhananjay/omarchy-menu-auto-open.git --enable --yes

The plugin is a drop-in replacement for the built-in menu: once enabled, every existing entry point — SUPER+SPACE, omarchy menu, the bar button, and all menu routes (system, capture, …) — opens this menu with auto-open enabled.

Removal

Removing the plugin restores the built-in Omarchy menu:

omarchy plugin remove cdhananjay.menu-auto-open --yes

Because the plugin is a drop-in replacement (it declares clonedFrom: omarchy.menu), removal automatically re-enables the stock menu in the bar. Reinstall anytime with the install command above.

Tuning

The auto-open delay lives in Menu.qml as autoOpenDelayMs (default 300). Set it to 0 to disable the feature entirely.
