The plugin is a simple bar widget that launches KeePassXC with an optional database path. It reads a local config file, safely quotes the path, and uses standard Omarchy commands. No malicious behavior, network access, or credential handling is present.

How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

AI advisory only — automated analysis, not a security guarantee.

KeePassXC for Omarchy

Plugin version Omarchy License: MIT

A small, keyboard-friendly Omarchy shell plugin that opens or focuses KeePassXC from the top bar.

The plugin deliberately stays simple: it launches KeePassXC with an optional local database path. It does not open or parse the database itself and never accesses passwords, credentials, or clipboard contents.

Requirements

Install

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/christestet/omarchy-keepassxc.git --enable

Omarchy validates the plugin and installs it under:

~/.config/omarchy/plugins/christestet.keepassxc

Configure a database

Copy the example configuration:

cp ~/.config/omarchy/plugins/christestet.keepassxc/config.example \
  ~/.config/omarchy/plugins/christestet.keepassxc/config

Then set the path to your local KDBX file:

database_path=~/Documents/passwords.kdbx

Paths beginning with ~/ are supported. The local config file is ignored by Git, so personal paths cannot accidentally be committed. If the file is absent or the value is empty, the widget opens KeePassXC without selecting a database.

Place the widget

The plugin defaults to the right side of the bar. Move it with Omarchy's bar command if desired:

omarchy bar move christestet.keepassxc --section right

Click the key icon to open KeePassXC or focus its existing window.

Update

omarchy plugin update christestet.keepassxc

See the latest plugin version and the complete release history.

Remove

omarchy plugin remove christestet.keepassxc

Security

Omarchy plugins execute as your user, so you should inspect third-party plugin code before installing it. This plugin only invokes KeePassXC through omarchy-launch-or-focus; the database remains entirely under KeePassXC's control. The repository contains no database, credentials, tokens, or personal configuration.
