This is a QML plugin that modifies the Omarchy menu's appearance and behavior. It runs commands from user-defined menu entries, which is standard for a launcher/menu. No malicious code, obfuscation, or suspicious behavior was found.

How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

Compact and docked Omarchy menu

Preview

A variant of the built-in omarchy.menu Quickshell plugin for Omarchy. Instead of floating in the middle of the screen, the menu card docks flush against the bottom edge of the top status bar, slides in from the top of the screen, and uses tighter spacing so more of your menu is visible with less chrome.

  • Docked under the status bar — the card opens flush against a top-positioned bar, horizontally centered. No floating card hunting for your cursor.
  • Fly-in animation — the card slides in from the top of the screen (100 ms, OutCubic). The stock search/submenu top-freeze behavior is preserved, so the card never jumps while you type or drill into submenus.
  • Compact rows — smaller card padding, shorter rows, and reduced gaps. Base row height drops from ~58 px to ~42 px (at the default 12 pt font scale).

Install

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/crueber/omarchy-compact-and-docked-menu.git --enable

The manifest carries omarchy.clonedFrom: "omarchy.menu", so once enabled the plugin takes over the built-in menu: the omarchy button in the bar, the default keybinding, and omarchy-shell shell summon omarchy.menu ... all route to this plugin. No manual bar surgery needed.

Removal

omarchy plugin remove crueber.omarchy-compact-docked-menu

Removing the plugin restores the stock omarchy.menu (it stays installed; the clone only replaces it while enabled). Requires Omarchy with the Quickshell shell and the bar positioned at the top of the screen. With a bottom bar the card still docks at the top; adjust dockedTop in Menu.qml or move your bar.

Tuning

All knobs live near the top of Menu.qml:

Knob Default Effect
contentMargin Style.space(9) Card inner padding
baseRowHeight Style.space(36) Normal row height
detailRowHeight Style.space(44) Row height with subtitle
dividerHeight Style.space(12) Submenu divider height
dockedTop Style.bar.sizeHorizontal Gap between screen top and card (bar height = flush)
duration in slideInAnimation 100 Fly-in duration in ms

Files

  • Menu.qml — the menu panel (modified from Omarchy's plugins/menu/Menu.qml)
  • BarWidget.qml — the bar button (unmodified; keeps omarchy.menu as its IPC target so the stock binding routes here)
  • MenuModel.js — menu JSONC parsing helpers (unmodified)
