Bitcoin Pulse for Omarchy
Bitcoin Pulse is a native Omarchy/Quickshell utility for monitoring the crypto market from your bar. It shows the live BTC/USD price and 24-hour direction. Clicking the widget opens a themed panel with market sentiment, the 24-hour open, high, low, and close prices, and an hourly price graph.
The project is open source under the MIT License. Everyone is welcome to clone, modify, redistribute, and improve it—including adapting it to display a favorite cryptocurrency instead of Bitcoin.

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/jobu222/omarchy-bitcoin-pulse.git --enable
Move it elsewhere on the bar if desired:
omarchy bar move e.bitcoin --section center
Remove safely
Use Omarchy's plugin manager so the widget is disabled and its installed files are removed cleanly:
omarchy plugin remove e.bitcoin
The plugin does not create a database, store credentials, or write user data, so no additional cleanup is required.

- Left-click: open or close the market panel
- Middle/right-click: refresh all data
- Escape or click outside: close the panel
Show another cryptocurrency
Fork or clone the repository and edit BarWidget.qml. Replace every Coinbase
product identifier BTC-USD with the product you want, such as ETH-USD or
SOL-USD. Then update the visible Bitcoin-specific labels and symbol (Bitcoin,
BTC/USD, and ₿) to match your chosen currency.
The chart and 24-hour market statistics use the same Coinbase product ID. Check that your chosen pair is available on Coinbase Exchange. The Crypto Fear & Greed reading represents the overall crypto market, rather than one individual coin.
If you publish your modified version, also choose a unique plugin id in
manifest.json and use that same value for moduleName in BarWidget.qml.
Publish it
1. Choose the permanent plugin ID
The current ID is e.bitcoin. Before the first public release, optionally
change id and moduleName to a stable namespace based on your GitHub handle,
for example satoshi.bitcoin. Do not rename it after users install it because
Omarchy stores the ID in their bar configuration.
2. Add repository metadata
Update the author field in manifest.json. Optionally add a screenshot at
docs/screenshot.png for the repository preview.
3. Validate the distributable
From this directory:
omarchy plugin validate .
The repository root must directly contain manifest.json, BarWidget.qml,
and this README. Do not wrap them in another directory and do not commit
symlinks.
4. Create and push the GitHub repository
git init
git add manifest.json BarWidget.qml README.md LICENSE
git commit -m "Release Bitcoin Pulse v1.0.0"
git branch -M main
git remote add origin https://github.com/YOUR_GITHUB_NAME/omarchy-bitcoin-pulse.git
git push -u origin main
Alternatively, with an authenticated GitHub CLI:
gh repo create omarchy-bitcoin-pulse --public --source=. --remote=origin --push
5. Test the public installation
Use a temporary user account or remove the local development copy first, then:
omarchy plugin add https://github.com/jobu222/omarchy-bitcoin-pulse.git --enable
omarchy plugin validate ~/.config/omarchy/plugins/e.bitcoin
6. Make it discoverable
Submit the public repository to the community directory at https://omarchyplugins.com. Include the plugin name, one-sentence description, repository URL, author, and screenshot.
Updating releases
Increment version in manifest.json, commit, and push. Installed users can
review and fast-forward to the latest version with:
omarchy plugin update e.bitcoin
Data and privacy
The widget runs curl requests to these public endpoints:
api.exchange.coinbase.comfor market statistics and hourly candlesapi.alternative.mefor Crypto Fear & Greed
It stores no credentials, account details, or browsing data. Like all Omarchy plugins, it runs as unsandboxed user code; users should review it before installation.
