This is a straightforward theme-sync service: it reads Omarchy's active color palette, updates Herdr's config, validates the result with `herdr config check`, and reloads Herdr. The code is readable, contains no obfuscation, destructive commands, network calls, or credential handling beyond normal local configuration writes.

How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

Install
$ omarchy plugin add https://github.com/andy-spike/herdr-theme --enable
Appearance #quickshell #system

Herdr Theme Sync

Herdr does not apply its terminal theme correctly with every terminal-inherited color palette. This can produce low-contrast text and overly strong selected surfaces.

This plugin syncs the active Omarchy theme tokens with Herdr's configuration. It keeps Herdr readable when the Omarchy theme changes and reloads the configuration without restarting Herdr's panes.

Requirements

  • Omarchy 4 with the Quattro shell
  • Herdr
  • Python 3.11 or newer

Install

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/andy-spike/herdr-theme.git --enable

The service applies the current palette when it starts and after every Omarchy theme change.

Support

This plugin is a temporary workaround for Herdr's terminal theme handling. It will be supported only until Herdr fixes the underlying problem. After that fix reaches a Herdr release, this plugin will be archived.

Remove

omarchy plugin remove io.github.andy-spike.herdr-theme-sync

Removal stops automatic syncing. It leaves the last valid Herdr palette in ~/.config/herdr/config.toml.

Development

omarchy plugin validate .
python3 sync-herdr-theme.py --self-test

The plugin reads Omarchy's active colors.toml. It supports semantic color names, ANSI color0 through color15 names, and palettes that use both formats. Palettes must define background and foreground because ANSI color slots do not define terminal defaults. It writes Herdr's user config and calls herdr server reload-config.
