OmaHarbor is a standard Omarchy bar widget that manages Hyprland workspaces and windows through hyprctl dispatches and writes only plugin-specific JSON files under ~/.config/omarchy/plugins. The reviewed code is consistent with its documented behavior, contains no obfuscation, credential access, destructive commands, or install-time scripts.

How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

AI advisory only — automated analysis, not a security guarantee.

OmaHarbor

A workspace switcher and a running-apps dock, combined into one Omarchy bar widget.

OmaHarbor in the bar

Workspace switcher

  • Numbered workspace indicators (1 2 3 4 5 ... up to 10), each set on its own colored circle.
  • Click a number to jump to that workspace.
  • Recolor any workspace: open the dock menu (below) → Workspace colors → click a number → pick any color from the saturation/value box and hue slider, or type a hex code directly. Confirm to save, Discard to back out — nothing is written until you confirm.

Dock

  • Every open window gets its own chip (not grouped by app) — click to minimize, click again to restore.
  • Click a chip for a window open on a different workspace and it switches you there and focuses it, instead of dragging the window over to wherever you clicked from.
  • A small dot in the corner of a chip, colored to match that window's workspace, shows at a glance when it's open somewhere other than the workspace you're currently viewing.
  • Hover a chip for a live thumbnail preview.
  • Pin an app (right-click → Pin to dock) to keep its icon in place, grayed out, even when it's not running — click it to launch.
  • Drag pinned apps to reorder them from the dock menu (the hamburger chip, first in the row).
  • Right-click any chip for Maximize / Minimize / Pin / Close, and Open new instance on workspace — pick a workspace number and a fresh instance of that app opens there directly. Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Brave, Edge, Vivaldi, Opera) get a real second window via --new-window; other apps use their own launch command and may refocus an existing window instead of opening a new one, depending on how that app itself handles a second launch.

Settings

Configurable from the bar widget's settings panel, or via omarchy bar set io.github.anelcelik.omaharbor <key> <value>:

Key Default Description
maxTitleLength 18 Window titles longer than this are truncated with an ellipsis.
previewDelay 350 Milliseconds to hover a chip before the live preview appears.

Install

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/anelcelik/omaharbor.git

Then place it in the bar (defaults to the left section):

omarchy plugin enable io.github.anelcelik.omaharbor

Credits

The dock half started as a fork of io.github.gardnmi.window-shelf ("Minimize"). The workspace half started as a clone of Omarchy's own built-in omarchy.workspaces widget. Both were reworked and merged here.
