This is a legitimate AI chat panel: it sends user messages and optional file attachments to the AI provider the user selects, and stores API keys locally. The deterministic scan's medium finding is the Gemini file-upload curl call, which is expected functionality rather than hidden exfiltration. No obfuscation, hidden persistence, or destructive behavior was found in the sampled code.

  • Chat content, system-info placeholders, and attached files are transmitted to third-party AI providers by design; this is disclosed in the README but is still a privacy consideration.
  • API keys are managed locally via the /key command and are presumably stored in the plugin's config file; users should protect that file.
  • The flagged curl to generativelanguage.googleapis.com is the Gemini file-upload endpoint used for the documented /attach feature, not an unauthorized external connection.
  • Favicon fetching also makes external requests to google.com/s2/favicons, but the domain is sanitized to hostname characters before use.

Install

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/atif-1402/ai-panel.git --enable

Then add a keybind to ~/.config/hypr/bindings.lua:

Setup

Open The panel and pick a model by typing /model and then add api key of the model you selected by /key API_KEY

Custom prompts

Drop .md or .txt files into ~/.config/ai-panel/ai/prompts/ and they appear in /prompt. Available placeholders:
