OMARACE

OMARACE is an original, theme-aware endurance racer for the Omarchy desktop. It draws on the immediacy of early home-console road games without copying a specific title. Race a blue, Zonda-inspired supercar through five increasingly difficult roads, pass each traffic target before time expires, and protect the car from three race-ending hits.

The game uses original code-drawn pixel artwork and synthesized sounds. Pagani and Zonda are trademarks of their respective owner; OMARACE is an independent fan-made game and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Pagani Automobili, Atari, or Activision.

Install

Requires Omarchy 4 or newer with Omarchy Shell enabled. It uses the Python 3 runtime included with Omarchy to safely load its small state file.

How to play

Pass the required number of traffic cars before the road timer reaches zero. Clearing a road awards a time bonus and repairs one damage marker. Three collisions end the run.

  • A / D or Left / Right: steer
  • W or Up: accelerate
  • S or Down: brake
  • Mouse press and drag: steer and accelerate
  • Enter, Space, or click: start / continue
  • P: pause or resume
  • M: mute or unmute
  • R: return to the ready screen
  • Escape: close

Best score, furthest road, most traffic passed, and mute preference are stored in ${XDG_STATE_HOME:-~/.local/state}/omarace/state.json. OMARACE has no network access, accounts, telemetry, services, installers, or privileged commands.

Update and remove

Removing the plugin leaves its small state file in place so a reinstall keeps your records. Delete the state file manually if you also want to reset them.

The WAV files are generated deterministically by tools/generate-sfx.cjs. Plugins execute as unsandboxed code inside Omarchy's long-running shell, so review third-party plugin source before enabling it.
