Quiet Queue

by Jeremy Longshore

Quiet Queue adds a trustworthy focus switch to Omarchy. Start a 25- or 50-minute session, see the countdown in the bar, and return to normal notification delivery when it expires. It uses Omarchy's native Do Not Disturb service: silenced notifications stay in first-party history, and Quiet Queue never reads, uploads, replaces, or discards them. It turns DND off only when it owns the session; existing DND is left alone, and an external change revokes stale ownership. State checks every 5 seconds.

The deterministic scan's high-risk findings are all in development/rig scripts (scripts/rig-verify.sh, gate scripts) that never run on an end-user machine; the shipped runtime is a QML bar widget plus a local helper that toggles Omarchy's native Do Not Disturb. The plugin performs no network access, credential handling, or destructive operations in its runtime path, and the flagged 'obfuscation' is a false positive (PNG magic bytes in a gate script). The only unverified component is the bin/quiet-queue helper, which is not in the sampled files but appears benign and passed the deterministic scan.

  • The runtime helper bin/quiet-queue is not included in the sampled files, so its exact behavior (state file handling, DND toggling) could not be independently verified, though it was not flagged by the deterministic scan.
  • The deterministic scan's high-risk flags are confined to scripts/rig-verify.sh and gate scripts, which are development tooling and not part of the installed plugin.
How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

Quiet Queue

Quiet Queue banner

ko-fi

Quiet Queue gives Omarchy a focus switch you can trust. Start a 25 or 50 minute session, watch the live countdown from the bar, and return to normal delivery automatically when the session expires.

Quiet Queue running an owned 25 minute focus session in Omarchy

It uses Omarchy's native notification Do Not Disturb service. Silenced notifications remain in the first-party history, and Quiet Queue never reads, replaces, uploads, or discards them.

The ownership rule is the important part: it turns Do Not Disturb off only when it turned it on. If Do Not Disturb was already active, the session ends without changing it.

Why it is different

  • One click starts a bounded 25 or 50 minute focus session.
  • The bar and panel show whether Quiet Queue owns DND and how much time remains.
  • Repeated and concurrent starts extend one authoritative session safely.
  • External DND changes immediately revoke stale ownership.
  • No account, cloud service, notification content access, or extra runtime.

Install

Choose 25 or 50 minutes from the panel. The status remains visible until the session ends or you explicitly stop it.
