This is a well-structured, transparent calendar widget with no malicious or suspicious code. The only network activity is an optional, disclosed HTTPS check for updated calendar data, and the downloaded payload is strictly validated (size limits, schema checks, revision gating) before being used. No obfuscation, credential access, destructive commands, or hidden persistence were found.

  • The autoUpdate feature (enabled by default) makes an HTTPS request to raw.githubusercontent.com on startup to check for calendar updates; this is disclosed in the manifest and README, and the data is non-executable and strictly validated before use.
  • The GitHub Actions workflow 'calendar-source-check.yml' has write permissions and auto-pushes branches, but it only opens a PR for human review and does not auto-merge, which is a reasonable supply-chain posture.
How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

  • Islamic New Year — رأس السنة الهجرية
  • Ashura — عاشوراء
  • Ramadan begins — بداية رمضان
  • Eid al-Fitr — عيد الفطر
  • Day of Arafah — يوم عرفة
  • Eid al-Adha — عيد الأضحى
  • Days of Tashriq — أيام التشريق

The optional traditional tier uses a muted dot and also includes:

  • Mawlid — المولد النبوي

  • Isra and Mi'raj — الإسراء والمعراج

  • Mid-Sha'ban — ليلة النصف من شعبان

  • 27th night of Ramadan — ليلة ٢٧ من رمضان

  • White Days — الأيام البيض

  • Select a marked day to see its localized name below the grid.

  • Set barMarker to Dot or Name to show today's occasion beside the date.

  • Traditional dates vary between communities; the local adjustment shifts the date and its markers together.
