Flagged patterns appear only in documentation files (README / docs) — descriptive examples, not executable code.

  • Docs sudo README.md:37

The deterministic finding flags the README's `sudo pacman -S fastfetch`, which is documentation only and is not executed by the plugin. The sampled QML code only runs fastfetch for read-only system information and uses wl-copy for clipboard copies; no install-time scripts, obfuscation, persistence, or destructive commands were found.

How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

About This System

An Omarchy Quattro bar plugin that shows a full system information panel — hardware, OS, desktop, disks, battery, network, display, security, and more — using fastfetch as the detection engine. No detection logic is reimplemented; the plugin shells out to your installed fastfetch with --config none so results are deterministic and always match what fastfetch reports.

Features

  • Bar button (info icon) opens a details panel anchored to it
  • System: host, chassis, BIOS/UEFI, OS, kernel, uptime, init system, packages, locale
  • Desktop: shell, terminal, WM/DE, themes, fonts, cursor
  • Hardware: CPU, CPU cache (L3), GPU(s) with driver and type, memory with type/speed
  • Storage: partitions with usage, swap, physical disk info (NVMe/SSD/HDD)
  • Power: battery health/cycles, power adapter wattage
  • Display: resolution, refresh rate, connection type
  • Network: local IPs, Wi-Fi (SSID, protocol, signal), public IP, DNS
  • Sensors: load average, active sound device/volume
  • Security: TPM info
  • Graphics APIs: Vulkan support
  • Peripherals: connected Bluetooth devices
  • Refresh button re-runs fastfetch; data also refreshes on every open
  • Click any value to copy it to the clipboard
  • Hover over labels for plain-language explanations
  • Missing modules (e.g. no DE on a WM-only setup, no TPM) are simply omitted
  • Graceful error message if fastfetch is not installed

Requirements

  • Omarchy Quattro (omarchy-shell)
  • fastfetch — sudo pacman -S fastfetch

Install

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/ranjithrajv/omarchy-about-system.git --enable

Or by hand: copy this folder into ~/.config/omarchy/plugins/, then:

omarchy-shell shell rescanPlugins
omarchy plugin enable io.github.ranjithraj.about-system

The widget appears in the right section of the bar; move it with:

omarchy bar move io.github.ranjithraj.about-system --section center

Usage

Click the info icon in the bar to open the panel. Press Escape to close, Tab to switch panels. Click the refresh arrow to re-run fastfetch.

Open/close over IPC:

omarchy-shell shell summon io.github.ranjithraj.about-system '{}'
omarchy-shell shell hide io.github.ranjithraj.about-system

Remove

omarchy plugin remove io.github.ranjithraj.about-system

Development

Validate locally:

PLUGIN_DIR="$HOME/.config/omarchy/plugins/io.github.ranjithraj.about-system"
omarchy plugin validate "$PLUGIN_DIR"
qmllint -I "$OMARCHY_PATH/shell" "$PLUGIN_DIR/BarWidget.qml" "$PLUGIN_DIR/Panel.qml"
