This is a simple, self-contained QML bar widget that renders a visual divider (line, pipe, or dot) with configurable style and margin. The only flagged finding is a git clone URL in the README, which is documentation and not part of the executable code. No shell scripts, network calls, obfuscation, or destructive operations are present.

How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

Bar Divider — Omarchy Bar Widget

A lightweight, customizable visual separator widget for the Omarchy status bar.

Allows you to place subtle separator lines, terminal-style pipes, or centered dots between status bar widgets to create clean, organized layouts. Dividers automatically follow the bar orientation, so they stay perpendicular to the bar whether it sits on the top, bottom, left, or right.

Requirements & Prerequisites

Before installing the widget, ensure your system has:

  1. Omarchy Linux with Quickshell status bar (omarchy plugin / omarchy bar CLI available).

<div align="center"> <table> <tr> <td align="center" valign="middle"> <img width="71" height="300" alt="Line dividers on a vertical bar" src="https://imglink.cc/cdn/PCQzDukpYD.png" /> </td> <td align="center" valign="middle"> <img width="57" height="300" alt="Dot dividers on a vertical bar" src="https://imglink.cc/cdn/RvRooPcFwr.png" /> </td> <td align="center" valign="middle"> <img width="348" height="75" alt="Dividers on a horizontal bar" src="https://imglink.cc/cdn/rH0P2VlOTr.png" /> <br /> <br /> <img width="348" height="75" alt="Dividers on a horizontal bar in a different theme" src="https://imglink.cc/cdn/OkDCzi5s92.png" /> </td> </tr> </table> </div>

Installation

Option 1: Using omarchy plugin (Recommended)

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/Rizmi/omarchy-divider-plugin.git --enable

Option 2: Manual Installation

  1. Clone the repository into your Omarchy plugins directory:

    git clone https://github.com/Rizmi/omarchy-divider-plugin.git \
      ~/.config/omarchy/plugins/io.github.rizmi.divider

  2. Validate and enable the plugin:

    omarchy plugin validate ~/.config/omarchy/plugins/io.github.rizmi.divider
    omarchy plugin enable io.github.rizmi.divider

Removal

omarchy plugin disable io.github.rizmi.divider
rm -rf ~/.config/omarchy/plugins/io.github.rizmi.divider
omarchy restart shell

Configuration & Usage

Add io.github.rizmi.divider anywhere in your bar layout (left, center, or right) in ~/.config/omarchy/shell.json.

Because multiple instances are supported (allowMultiple: true), you can insert as many dividers as you want between widgets.

margin is applied along the bar axis — left and right of the divider on a top/bottom bar, above and below it on a left/right bar:

{
  "bar": {
    "layout": {
      "center": [
        {
          "id": "io.github.salemsayed.omaprayers"
        },
        {
          "id": "io.github.rizmi.divider",
          "style": "line",
          "margin": 4
        },
        {
          "id": "omarchy.clock"
        },
        {
          "id": "io.github.rizmi.divider",
          "style": "line",
          "margin": 4
        },
        {
          "id": "poppy.next-event"
        }
      ]
    }
  }
}

Available Settings

Each divider instance can have its own individual style and margin settings:

Key Type Default Options / Range Description
style enum "line" "line", "pipe", "dot" Visual divider style
margin integer 4 0 to 30 Margin along the bar axis, in pixels

Styles

Dividers follow the bar orientation: on a top/bottom bar they are drawn vertically, and on a left/right bar they are drawn horizontally.

  • line (default): Minimal rule drawn across the bar, with subtle opacity.
  • pipe: Classic terminal pipe separator (│), rotated 90° on a left/right bar.
  • dot: Small centered geometric dot separator (identical in every bar position).
