Moon Arc is a simple, self-contained QML bar widget that computes lunar phase locally from a fixed epoch. It performs no network requests, launches no commands, writes no files, and contains no obfuscated or suspicious code. The deterministic scan found no issues, and manual review confirms the plugin is safe to install.

How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

Install

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/rookepoole/omarchy-moon-arc.git --enable

Click the phase mark to see the phase name, approximate illumination, lunar age, and cycle progress.

Accuracy boundary

Moon Arc uses the mean 29.53058867-day synodic cycle anchored to the known 2000-01-06 18:14 UTC new moon. It is a pleasant desktop approximation, not a full astronomical ephemeris and not suitable for navigation, tides, observation timing, or safety-critical use.

Dependencies and permissions

Requires only Omarchy Quattro and its Qt/Quickshell runtime. It makes no network requests, launches no commands, requests no privileges, and writes no files.
