The deterministic scan found no issues, and I found no malicious, hidden, or destructive behavior in the plugin. I rate it low rather than none only because the widget's intended function sends user-entered text to Anthropic's Claude service via the claude CLI, and its recovery flow can offer to install/authenticate that CLI; both behaviors are user-initiated and disclosed in the README. Overall it is safe to publish and install.

  • User-entered text is transmitted to Anthropic's Claude service as the core function of the plugin; this is disclosed but is still a privacy consideration.
  • If the claude CLI is missing, the recovery action opens a terminal and runs `omarchy-mise-install claude && claude auth login`; this is user-initiated and transparent, but it does execute third-party installation/login tooling.
  • The Python helper invokes `claude` with no shell, no tools, safe mode, and stdin-supplied text, so no command injection or hidden system access was found.
How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

Proofreader - Omarchy bar widget

A small Omarchy shell plugin for proofreading and translating short messages with the Claude Code CLI.

The plugin improves spelling, grammar, and awkward phrasing while preserving the sender's meaning and tone. Questions and requests are rewritten for their intended recipient, never answered by the model. Successful results replace the original text and are copied to the clipboard automatically.

Requirements

  • Omarchy with the Quickshell-based shell (omarchy-shell)
  • An installed and authenticated claude CLI

Install

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/MattMangoni/omarchy-proofreader.git --enable

The widget appears in the right section of the bar by default.

Usage

  1. Click the proofreader icon in the bar.
  2. Paste or write a short message.
  3. Choose the target language.
  4. Click Improve or press Ctrl+Enter.

The improved text is selected and copied to the clipboard. The button shows Copied! when it is ready to paste.

Supported target languages:

  • English
  • Italian
  • Spanish
  • French
  • German

The target defaults to the OS language when supported, or English otherwise.
