The plugin is a benign keyboard-lock utility that uses hyprctl to disable input devices and persists state via a local file. The setup script modifies the user's indicators configuration as documented, with no signs of malicious behavior.

  • The setup script modifies user configuration files and restarts the shell, which is expected for a plugin but could be disruptive if run unexpectedly.
  • The setup script relies on python3 and sed for manifest editing, which may fail on systems without these tools, but this is not a security issue.
How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

omaClean Preview

Features

  • One-Click Keyboard Lock: Click the indicator to disable keyboard input via hyprctl — no keystrokes get through while cleaning.
  • Click to Unlock: Click the indicator again to re-enable the keyboard. Mouse still works while locked.
  • Persistent State: Survives reboots — if you locked your keyboard before restarting, it stays locked on next boot.
  • Native Indicator: Shows beside NightLight, StayAwake, and DnD in the indicators widget. Hides when inactive, reveals on hover — same behavior as the other indicators.

Installation

Install in one command:

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/JoeJoeflyn/omaclean --yes && ~/.config/omarchy/plugins/omaclean/setup.sh

Or tell your AI assistant (Devin, Claude, etc.):

Install the omaClean Omarchy plugin from https://github.com/JoeJoeflyn/omaclean — run the plugin add command then the setup.sh script.

The setup script automatically:

  1. Clones omarchy.indicators as <username>.indicators (e.g. burninc0de.indicators) if not already present
  2. Copies CleanKbd.qml into it
  3. Adds CleanKbd to the indicator list
  4. Enables the service and restarts the shell

After install, hover the center bar section (around the clock) to reveal the keyboard icon beside NightLight and StayAwake. Click it to lock the keyboard, click again to unlock.

Removal

omarchy plugin remove omaclean
