The plugin is a simple audio spectrum visualizer that spawns cava with a bundled configuration file and displays the output. No malicious behavior, network access, or credential handling is present. The code is straightforward and safe.

How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

60Hz Audio Spectrum

Cava-driven audio spectrum for the Omarchy Quattro bar. Peak-normalized so volume does not change bar height. Bass sits in the center (warm); treble at the edges (cool).

Spectrum on the Omarchy bar

Depends

  • cava on PATH (Arch: pacman -S cava)
  • PipeWire (cava input method)

The plugin runs unsandboxed inside the long-lived omarchy-shell process and spawns cava against the bundled cava-spectrum.conf.

Refresh

Cava samples at 60 fps (framerate = 60 in cava-spectrum.conf). Each line on stdout is ingested immediately. Heights are peak-normalized so volume does not jump the bars. QML then mixes 30% previous + 70% new (smoothing = 0.3) so motion stays fluid instead of jittery.
