Application dock for Omarchy. Tracks Hyprland windows across workspaces with smart launch, focus and cycling behavior, per-window minimize-to-dock and restore, drag & drop reordering, and a rich right-click action card featuring .desktop quick actions. Touch-friendly long-press gestures mirror every mouse interaction, a Super-held System menu handles pinning and custom icon overrides, and Chromium webapps launch reliably alongside seamless Omarchy theme integration.

The plugin is a standard Quickshell dock: the sampled QML/JS code is defensive and benign, and the Python helpers use bounded no-follow reads, atomic writes, and strict input validation. No install-time scripts, obfuscation, persistence, credential access, or destructive commands were found; the deterministic scan found no issues and our review agrees.

How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

AI advisory only — automated analysis, not a security guarantee.

PrimoDock

PrimoDock Preview

A native, highly polished animated application dock designed for Omarchy Quattro (Quickshell & Hyprland). PrimoDock brings fluid macOS-inspired dock physics, intelligent window tracking, multi-window management, and seamless theme synchronization to your Linux desktop.

Key Features

  • Smart Launching & Switching — Click an icon to launch an application or instantly switch to the exact workspace where it is already running.
  • Multi-Window Support & Cycling — Right-click any running app to view all open windows with titles and workspace badges, or click repeatedly / use the scroll-wheel to cycle through open instances.
  • Persistent Favorites — Pin or unpin applications instantly via the Super-held System menu (★ / ☆). Pinned favorites persist across reboots and workspace switches.
  • Drag & Drop Reordering — Fluid drag-and-drop icon reordering directly on the dock surface with automatic persistence of your custom layout.
  • Quick Window Controls — Manage windows on the fly from the right-click action card: close individual windows, close all instances, or minimize to dock.
  • Touch-Friendly Gestures — Long-press mirrors right-click everywhere (icons and blank space), with a configurable hold duration (longPressDuration in primo.dock-settings.json, which also stores your pinned apps).
  • System Menu — Hold Super and right-click (or long-press) an icon for system-level actions like custom icon overrides.
  • Seamless Omarchy Theme Sync — Automatically synchronizes with your active Omarchy system colors, accent borders, glassmorphism opacities, and window corner radiuses.
  • Live Status Indicators — Glowing accent dots beneath each icon display active running states (one dot per open window, highlighting the currently active window).
  • Dynamic Positioning — Intelligently detects and adapts to screen dimensions and Omarchy bar placement (top, bottom, left, or right).
  • Configurable Dock Placement — "placement": "auto" parks the dock opposite the bar, or pin it manually ("top", "bottom", "left", "right"). Sharing the bar's edge nudges the dock inward by "barPadding" px (default 48, 0–256).
  • Configurable Hover Effects — Choose from multiple fluid hover effects (zoom, lift, bounce, glow, pulse) with smooth magnification wave physics and glowing auras.
  • Quickshell & IPC Integration — Fully integrated with Omarchy shell lifecycle management and direct IPC controls (primo.dock).

🖱️ Interaction Guide

Action Behavior
Left-Click Launch application, focus running window, or cycle through open windows.
Right-Click Open the action card: window list (activate, minimize/restore, or close individual windows), toggle minimize/restore to dock for the whole app, open a new instance, or launch the app's .desktop quick actions (e.g. New Private Window).
Long-Press Touch/stylus equivalent of right-click — opens the action card on an icon, or the dock menu on blank space.
Super + Right-Click / Long-Press Open the System menu for an icon: pin/unpin (★ / ☆) and custom icon overrides (🎨 Change Icon).
Middle-Click Launch a brand new independent instance of the application. Holding Super opens it floating.
Shift + Click Same as middle-click — open a brand new instance of the application. Holding Super opens it floating.
Super + Click Running app: toggle float/tile of its focused window. Non-running icon: launch the app floating.
Scroll Wheel Cycle through open windows of the hovered application.
Drag & Drop Click and drag an icon horizontally or vertically to reorder your dock items.

⚙️ IPC & Management

PrimoDock exposes a native Quickshell IPC target (primo.dock) for scripting and automation:

# Toggle dock visibility
quickshell ipc call primo.dock toggle

# Open dock
quickshell ipc call primo.dock open

# Close dock
quickshell ipc call primo.dock close

# Toggle debug logging (on / off / empty = flip current state)
quickshell ipc call primo.dock debug on

Set the dock toggle as a hyprland binding: o.bind("SUPER + SHIFT + ALT + Space", "", { launch = 'bash -c "quickshell -p /usr/share/omarchy/shell ipc call primo.dock toggle"' })

🐞 Debug Logging

Off by default. Enable it either in ~/.config/omarchy/primo.dock-settings.json:

{ "debugLogging": true }

(the dock picks it up within a few seconds, no restart needed), or instantly via IPC:

quickshell ipc call primo.dock debug on # off to disable, empty to toggle

While enabled, lifecycle events (probe failures/recovery, missing dependencies, settings-write failures, theme icon-cache clears) are appended to:

~/.local/state/omarchy/primo.dock/debug.log

(rotated once at 256 KiB to debug.log.1). Watch it live with:

tail -f ~/.local/state/omarchy/primo.dock/debug.log

📦 Installation

Requires Omarchy Quattro (Quickshell + Hyprland).

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/PrimoGameStudio/primo.dock.git --enable

This clones the plugin to ~/.config/omarchy/plugins/primo.dock/, validates manifest.json, and enables it via IPC. Omit --enable to review code first, then:

omarchy plugin enable primo.dock
omarchy plugin list # verify

To update:

omarchy plugin update primo.dock
# or update all plugins: omarchy plugin update

🗑️ Uninstallation

To remove PrimoDock from your Omarchy environment:

omarchy plugin remove primo.dock
