This plugin is a harmless desktop novelty: it listens for Hyprland's movewindowv2 event and plays a random audio file from its own plugin sounds directory via pw-play. The shell command is built from static, trusted values, and audio filenames are passed safely quoted, so no meaningful injection, persistence, or destructive behavior is present.

How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

Dog Bark

An Omarchy shell plugin that plays a random dog-bark sound whenever a window is moved to a different workspace.

What it does

Listens to Hyprland's movewindowv2 event (fired any time a window's workspace changes, whether by keybind, dispatcher, or drag) and plays a randomly chosen sound from sounds/ via pw-play. Overlapping barks are expected if you move several windows in quick succession.

Requirements

  • PipeWire (pw-play on PATH) — the default on Omarchy

Install

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/<your-username>/omarchy-dogbark.git --enable

Controls

omarchy-shell ipc call dogbark status   # {"enabled":true,"volume":1}
omarchy-shell ipc call dogbark disable
omarchy-shell ipc call dogbark enable
omarchy-shell ipc call dogbark toggle
omarchy-shell ipc call dogbark test # play a bark immediately

Sounds

The three bundled clips (dragon-studio-*.mp3) are by Dragon Studio via Pixabay, used under the Pixabay Content License (free for commercial and non-commercial use, no attribution required). Drop additional .wav, .mp3, or .ogg files into sounds/ to add more variety — one is picked at random on each workspace move.
