This is a minimal, transparent bar-widget plugin that swaps the Omarchy menu button's glyph and wires left/right clicks to standard Omarchy commands (menu toggle and terminal). The QML source is short, readable, and contains no obfuscation, persistence, credential access, or destructive behavior. The deterministic scan found no issues, and my review agrees.

How this check works

This review combines the deterministic scan (the rule-based results above) with an independent look at the plugin's code by a language model. The model reads a trimmed sample of the repository's files, the manifest, and the README, then gives a plain-language risk level and a recommendation: install (no notable danger), review (look closer first), or avoid (clearly dangerous).

It runs on the same analyzed commit as the deterministic scan and is strictly advisory — it is not a security guarantee and never blocks a plugin by itself. A human moderator still reviews plugins before they are listed.

omarchy-menu-power-glyph

The Omarchy Menu button wearing a power glyph instead of the Omarchy logo.

The bar's left cluster, with the power glyph in place of the Omarchy logo

Plugin id: shokupan.omenu

What it does

Omarchy's built-in menu button hardcodes its logo — U+E900 in the private "omarchy" icon font — and exposes no setting to change it. This plugin is a drop-in bar widget that draws the same button with the standard power glyph (U+F011) instead. Everything else is upstream's behaviour, verbatim.

See Provenance and attribution below: this widget is adapted from upstream's menu button rather than written from scratch.

Install

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/austin-karren/omarchy-menu-power-glyph.git --enable

--enable will ask which bar section to place it in. To take upstream's own menu button off the bar afterwards, use the Setup menu's bar editor, or:

omarchy plugin disable omarchy.menu

Remove

omarchy plugin remove shokupan.omenu

That takes the widget out of the bar layout and deletes the plugin directory. If you disabled omarchy.menu above, re-enable it with omarchy plugin enable omarchy.menu.

Clicks

Click Action
Left Opens the Omarchy Menu (omarchy-shell shell toggle omarchy.menu)
Right Opens a terminal (xdg-terminal-exec)

Dependencies

None beyond Omarchy itself. The glyph comes from the Nerd Font Omarchy already ships, and both click actions are Omarchy's own commands.

Because those two commands are copied from upstream's menu button, a future Omarchy release that renames the omarchy.menu IPC route would leave this button inert. It is verified against Omarchy 4.0.0.r1744; re-check after a major update.

Provenance and attribution

This is a derivative work of the Omarchy project. BarWidget.qml is adapted from Omarchy's own menu bar widget (shell/plugins/menu/BarWidget.qml), written by David Heinemeier Hansson and the Omarchy contributors. It is a short file, and most of it is upstream's: the WidgetButton structure, the horizontalMargin: 7.5 value, and both click handlers are carried over near-verbatim. What is new here is the glyph, the tooltip, and the plain-Item root that the third-party plugin loader injects into (upstream's file inherits BarWidget, a type name this file's own name would shadow).
